It is true that the planetary combination in the horoscope indicates whether someone will be jailed or kept behind bars during their lifetime. In every individual horoscope, the yoga made by the placement, aspects and conjunction of the planets in the different houses, indicates whether a person will go to jail or not. A person who goes to jail has become away from family or society. The malefic planetary combination in the birth chart is responsible for jail. I am going to write about planets combination in birth chart which is called “Bandhana Yoga” Bandhana is a Sanskrit word which means imprisonment or jail.
The planets Saturn, Mars and Rahu and their combination either through aspects or conjunction are the key planets for imprisonment.
The houses 1st, 2nd, 6th, 8th and 12th are responsible for jail in the Birth chart. 6th is the house of legal issues and obstacles in life, 12th is the house of jail, imprisonment, confinement. 8th house is the house of the obstacle.
planetary combinations for imprisonment in horoscope.
- Rahu puts false accusations on innocent people. The 12th house is the house of imprisonment in the birth chart. If the 12th house or its lord is weak then gives long term imprisonment.
- If Saturn and Mars aspects each other in the horoscope, then due to the fighting feud, a person can go to jail.
- If the malefic planets placed in 2nd, lagan and 12th house the native will go to imprisonment in the concerning planet period.
- When the planet is present in the horoscope, in the 12th and 2nd house (both planets have one planet or two or two planets or more), then the person will go to jail or his/her life itself experiences a burden or bond.
- Malefic is placed in the 12th, 5th, 9th and the 2nd. This configuration makes the person vulnerable to confinement or imprisonment.
- Malefic is placed in the 12th, 5th, 9th and the 2nd, while the Lagan is identical to Sagittarius, Aries or Taurus this configuration makes the person vulnerable to confinement ”by rope”.
- Malefic is placed in the 12th, 5th, 9th and the 2nd, while the Lagan is identical to Gemini, Libra or Aquarius this configuration makes the person vulnerable to confinement or imprisonment in a jail.
- Malefics in the 12th, 5th, 9th and the 2nd, while the Lagan is identical to Cancer, Leo or Pisces this configuration makes the person vulnerable to confinement or imprisonment ”in a fort”.

- If a person has a similar number of planets in the horoscope of 2, 12th or 5th and 9th or 6th and 12th or third and 11th or 4th and 10th, then this yoga gives rise to Bandhan yoga.

In the example horoscope Mahatma Gandhi born as Libra ascendant, Saturn occupied the 2nd house in Scorpio sign and the Sun was in the 12th house in Virgo sign, as also Ketu was in the 4th and Rahu in the 10th house and ascendant lord Venus is in the ascendant with malefic Mars ( 2nd lord) and with 12th lord Mercury and also 6th lord Jupiter aspect from 7th house for which reason he was frequently kept under house arrest or in imprisonment by the British authorities for political reasons.
